Manipulation Movements
Technique
- To get to starting position:
- Stand up with feet shoulder width apart, arms fully extended beside thighs, holding the pipe with palms facing behind just over shoulder width apart, chest out and back straight
- Lower pipe to mid shin by pushing hips back and bending knees, keeping back straight, head facing forwards and heels on the floor
- Maintaining a straight back and head facing forwards, begin movement by extending legs, keeping arms straight, raising pipe to mid-thigh, keeping it close to the body
- Explosively extend hips and ankles to raise body up onto toes, shrug shoulders to lift the pipe keeping arms straight
- In one fast motion plant heels back onto the floor, dip knees slightly and push elbows under the pipe and forward (so upper arm is parallel to the floor) bringing pipe onto chest
- Extend knees and hips to fully stand up, keeping back straight throughout
- Return to starting position
