Common Faults
- Back arching when bringing knees to
waist, resulting in elevated hips - Hands too far in front of the shoulders
- Not alternating legs
- Feet touching the floor at mid-point of movement under the body when knees are
raised
Corrections
- Demonstrate the correct movement
- Give verbal coaching cues of the correct technique
- Remain in press up position
- Keep foot raised off floor during knee raise
- Keep back straight
- Lower hips
- If child is fatigued, resulting in poor technique, allow the child to rest or slow down until the movement can be executed with correct technique
