Common Faults

  • Legs straightened
  • Lack of torso rotation only moving arms.
  • Back arched and too low
  • Sat too upright
  • Hands coming apart


  • Demonstrate the correct movement
  • Give verbal coaching cues of the correct technique
    • Keep legs bent
    • Keep hands together
    • Twist your body as far as you can
    • Keep back at 45 degrees to the floor
  • If child is fatigued, resulting in poor technique, allow the child to rest or slow down until the movement can be executed with correct technique
